I pretty much just come for the tomato soup! Not much else that catches my eye. The one unique item I like is the cabbage rolls, but I don't like the soup they come in, but delicious if you ask for them to be served without the soup and just with the mashed potatoes.

Crossroads gives a whole new dimension to 'delicatessen'. The food, service, and ambiance are excellent. While the bar is not a primary focus -- don't hesitate to have your favorite before-dinner-beverage. Once you've experienced this culinary tradition Ala Crossroads, you'll be back again as I have; and, you'll recommend it to your friends. DA, Golden Valley

Kevin's combo pastrami and corn beef sandwich is one of the best sandwiches you'll ever eat. I've had it a couple times and it is something that will give you cravings. If you've ever eaten at any of the great delicatessens like Wolf's in New York City, this sandwich rivals some of the best.

The perfect place for nostalgia! I'm originally from the North Shore Suburbs of Chicago, where I can find a Deli everywhere - ever since moving here I've been wanting to find the perfect spot and this is it! My boyfriend and I came here on a rainy morning to grab some breakfast, and try their matzoh ball soup. All of it was delicious! The soup was warm and flavorful, the matzoh ball a little dense for my taste but everyone has their preferences. We got a Veggie omelet and the breakfast sammy. We both loved our food and was served a large plate! Only note was that both dishes needed salt, but we added that ourselves. My favorite part of this spot is the deli - since it was right before Passover I was able to get some KforP treats that were delicious. Highly recommend their Passover brownies - like fudge! We also tried a bagel and a B&W Cookie from the counter. The bagel is NY style with a hard skin and a chewy inside. The cookie was my favorite, like the ones I always got as a kid! I will definitely be back here.

I'm missing pastrami grinders from California so this is my first stop in finding the best possible substitute in the Twin Cities. This is is 6 on a scale from 1-10 compared to what I was hoping for. This has been one of my wife's favorite places that we haven't been to in many years because we live so far away. For the sandwich to get a 10 from me it needs to be served on a hoagie/sub bun with yellow wax peppers on the side. Mustard, shredded lettuce and dill pickles never hurt either. The pastrami itself was most with just the right amount of fat. The next time I'll probably just buy the pastrami at their deli and DIY the sandwich at. home.

We haven't eaten here in years and decided to give it another try. The ambience is a typical suburban vibe....but the food! Oh wow! The short ribs are tender, served in a large bowl with the most delicious broth (like a sweeter version of a French onion soup) and creamy mashed potatoes. You can get a half or full sized portion. The combo sandwich was delish...tastes freshly sourced from the deli part of the restaurant. Service is polite and timely. Parking is easy and plentiful. If you like this genre of food, this one is a winner. The short ribs

One word: delicious! We went on a Sunday at 11ish for an early lunch and they weren't very busy (it was freezing though, so nothing was busy!). My companion ordered the corned beef hash and said it was the best he had ever had, it was served with two poached eggs over the top and was not crazy salty (like the canned variety). I had the matzo ball soup- the ball was ok, but the broth, chicken, carrots, onions, and celery were soooo yummy!! I also had the bottomless pickled beets and they were superb as was the caraway rye bread. It was warm and inviting inside with a cozy fireplace. I'd definitely recommend stopping here!

I was here with a group of 20-some folks for lunch. They set up a nice area for us in a kinda-private area of the dining room. They were also kind enough to process 20-some individual checks! The waiter assigned to us was friendly and patient despite helping such a large group on his own. The menu has a nice variety of options that you don't typically see in mainstream restaurants. I ordered the beet salad - it was basic but had plenty of beets! Wish there would have been a slice of bread on the side, though. The other folks at my table had the shakshuka (that was served in a small cast iron pan), a ginormous Reuben sandwich (it could have fed three people), and a fish sandwich (with a filet that was three times the size of the bun). After lunch I stopped in their bakery and bought a half-loaf of sourdough bread. It was so fresh that I ended up nibbling on the heel slices in the car on the way home. Love the tang of a good sourdough bread!

This is a restaurant I've been to dozens of times, and another that is pure comfort food. Even though they make a number of Jewish-style foods such as Matzo ball soup, bagels and lox, chopped liver sandwiches, and corned beef sandwiches, this is NOT a typical Jewish Deli. In fact, this Sunday, they are having an Easter Brunch with carved ham. Items like ham, bacon, and pork ribs are menu staples. This is the mixed marriage of deli's, but they have their heart in the right place. In a town with only one authentic Jewish deli that I can think of (Cecil's), this somehow comes in #2 with apologies to Jewish friends, family, rabbis, and anyone even remotely Kosher. (It's like when Red Lobster was rated the #2 seafood restaurant in the Twin Cities by Twin Cities Monthly). Ethnicity aside, almost everyone seems to be a regular and I'm pretty sure all customers qualify for Medicare. But that speaks to their staying-power. Crossroads is a family restaurant that has operated for over 25 years. The food is consistent and good quality at moderate prices (although these continue to increase with each visit, it seems). The overall menu is eclectic. Besides the items I've mentioned, they have Chicken Marsala, Quesadillas, Walleye and Mac and Cheese, all of which are good. If you are looking for a trendy restaurant or something hipster, stop reading this review and find something else. If you want a restaurant that feels like a well-worn, comfortable shoe, this is your place. As a bonus, they have a take-out deli on the other side of the restaurant (turn left instead of right when entering). There you will find the usual deli meats, but more importantly the very best caraway rye bread in the Twin Cities and that's a promise. You can also buy the matzo ball soup by the quart, frozen in containers. It's a good idea to have a quart of this in your freezer as a guaranteed cure for what ails you. If you are lucky, they will have bagel chips that they have made, which I also highly recommend. In the bakery, you will find a variety of cookies and other sweets. If you are a Minnesotan looking for the best Jewish/goyishe deli restaurant, give this a try.
